There are two grape varieties with this name:
The white grape variety (also Pirovano 316) is a new cross between Afus Ali x Angelo Pirovano. The cross was made at the research centre in Rome-Italy by the Italian breeder Alberto Piròvano (1884-1973). The variety is used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
The white grape variety is a new variety; however, the parent varieties are not known. It was crossed in France in 1859 by the breeder Jean-Perre Vibert. The variety is used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
