The wine-growing area is located in the northwest of Hungary, about 50 kilometers north of the Balaton (Balaton). In the past, oxidatively developed wines were produced here, which were added to the Tokaj Made competition. The climate is characterized by warm, temperate summers with plenty of sunshine and frequent winds. The vineyards cover around 700 hectares of vineyards on partly loamy soil on the slopes of an extinct volcanic cone. Here are mainly alcoholic, acidic white wines produced with aging potential. The most important varieties are Chardonnay. Furmint. Hárslevelü. Juhfark, Olaszrizling ( Riesling ), Rajnairizling ( Riesling ) and Tramini ( Gewurztraminer ). Well-known producers are Fekete Béla, Györgykovács Imre, Kreinbacher and Tornai.
