Spreader Andreas & Bernd

The estate is located in the Oestrich municipality in the German wine-growing region Rheingau, The traditional company can look back on a wine-growing history dating back to 1641. Since 1997 it has been run by the brothers Andreas and Bernd Spreitzer. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards in individual locations Doosberg and lenchen (Oestrich) Jesuitengarten (Angle) as well Wisselbrunnen (Hattenheim). They are 97% Riesling, the rest with Pinot Noir. It becomes natural, environmentally friendly viticulture with intensive greening practiced every second row of vines. Grain is sown in winter. The vines are cut only slightly to reduce yields. With the exclusively hand-picked grapes, great importance is attached to optimal ripeness. The wines are vinified in the vaulted cellar built in 1743. After whole grape pressing, the slow fermentation takes place in wooden barrels or in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The premium wines include First crops, In Lenchen, the owner's grandfather harvested a dry berry selection at 303 ° Oechsle in 1920. The late harvest is then named "303". When the weather is good, dry berries and ice wines are also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the associations Charter Rheingau and VDP (Association of German quality wine estates).
