Commonly used material for the manufacture of stainless steel tanks for the fermentation, Storage and aging of wines can be used. Stainless steel has a high proportion of chrome (as well as nickel, molybdenum and titanium). On the surface, the chromium forms a closed layer (so-called passive layer) with the atmospheric oxygen, which protects the iron in the alloy from rust. The advantages over containers made of wood and concrete are easy to clean especially from Weinstein, optimal use of space, flexible volumes (from small tanks with 50 liters to one million liters), complete closure oxygen, less loss and better way of temperature control.
