The winery is located in the municipality of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. It was founded in 1938 by the father of the current owner. As a career changer, he attended the viticulture school in Krems and was then the first in the municipality to push the high culture propagated by Lenz Moser III. (1905-1978) in the community. Today the estate is run by Karl and Brigitte Steininger. In 2003, the Loisium wine experience world was opened on the estate's property, with cellar corridors connected to the winery cellar. The Steiningers are one of the three shareholder families. The vineyards cover 35 hectares in the Heiligenstein, Spiegel, Steinhaus and Koglberg vineyards. 80% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (50%), Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer and Muskateller, and 20% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wines from the main variety Grüner Veltliner are a speciality of the house. The premium wines therefore include Grüner Veltliner and also the Rieslings Kamptal DAC and Kamptal DAC Reserve. Karl Steininger got the idea for the production of sparkling wines during a visit to the Champagne region. Sparkling wine production, which began in 1989, has become an essential part of the business. The aim is to produce sparkling wines with the character of the individual varieties that is typical for the region. The highest value is placed on the best quality of the basic wines. The wines are fermented in the traditional bottle fermentation method. The range includes Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Traminer, Cabernet Sauvignon (Rosé) and Zweigelt, as well as a Burgundy cuvée of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir.
