Supp Eckhard

The German wine journalist, photographer, author and Dr. Eckhard Supp (*1950) studied history, philosophy, sociology and politics at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-University in Frankfurt/Main from 1969 to 1975. He was instrumental in the compilation of the index volume of the Hegel-Gesamtausgabe at Suhrkamp-Verlag. From 1977 to 1984 he lived and worked as a freelance journalist and photographer in Paris, and in this context he made long reportage trips to many countries around the world. Since 1986, wine has been the focus of his work, with collaboration with magazines and publishers such as , , Weinwirtschaft Markt and collaboration with (Vini d'Italia, ).

The author's work mainly covers the topics of travel, food and beverages. In the ENO Verlag, founded in 1992, he has published about 20 books on the subject of wine since 1995. Some of them are Wein für Einsteiger (1992), Enzyklopädie des Italienischen Weins (ed. 1995), Enzyklopädie des Österreichischen Weins. (ed. 1996), Enzyklopädie des Deutschen Weins (ed. 1997), Eno-Ratgeber: 100 tips on wine (1999), Weinglossar für Globetrotter (2004) and Der Brockhaus - Wein. (Editorial management 2009). The book series "Wine & Travel", published since 2001, includes volumes on the wine and travel destinations Australia, Barolo, Barbaresco, Burgenland, Rhône, South Africa, Tuscany, Veneto, Vienna.
