The white grape variety originates from Greece. Synonyms are Kourou Tachtas, Kour-Tachtas, Kurutachtias, Kurutaktas, Romeiko Machaira and Romeiko Megalorago Macheira. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. It is used as wine grape, table grape and for the production of sultanas. The variety is cultivated on Crete and in Macedonia, as well as on Cyprus. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
