Tärbinu

Valaisan German term for the wine-growing municipality of Visperterminen; see there.

Famous wine-growing community (also Terminen or Termenon, in Valais German Tärbinu) at the entrance to the front Visp Valley in the Swiss canton of Valais. The name is of Latin origin and means "border (neighbourhood) of Visp". The village was first mentioned around 1199 as "Villa Termenuns" near Visp. The south-facing vineyards are split into several areas and cover a total of 55 hectares of vines.
