Italian term for a special frizzante closure; see under Spago.

Spago

Abbreviation used mainly in the Italian region of Veneto, also "Tappo Spago", for a special cork stopper of Frizzante (semi-sparkling wine). Sparkling wine under 3 bar carbon dioxide pressure is exempt from any sparkling wine tax.
