Tasters Guild International Wine Judging

The consumer organisation "Tasters Guild" was founded in 1987 in Fort Lauderdale-Florida (USA) as an "Association for Wine and Food Enthusiasts". Various events are held to represent the interests of wine and food consumers to producers and importers. The official organ is the "Tasters Guild Journal". A wide range of services is offered to members. These include preferential purchasing for quality wines and food, special discounts for hotel and restaurant stays, and the organization of wine cruises and visits to wineries and wine estates in the USA, Australia and Europe. Every year, the Tasters Guild International Wine Judging (TGIWJ) is held at various locations in the USA. In April 2004, 2,000 wines from 15 countries were tasted by 40 professional tasters. The best wines are awarded with medals in Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze. See also under awards and wine events.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
