The red-berried grape variety originates from Spain. The variety is grown in Bajo Aragón (Teruel) in Aragon. In Wine Grapes, it is listed as an independent variety. However, it is a local name for the grape variety Garnacha Roja (personal information from Dr. Erika Maul). No stock was reported under this name in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
