Producer description of "Weingut Temer KG"

The winery is located in the municipality of in the Burgenland wine-growing region of (Austria). The origins date back to 1970, when Matthias Temer Jr. and Anneliese Temer started bottling and marketing wine. Today, the business is run by their son Christian Temer, assisted by his brother Alexander. The vineyards cover over four hectares of vineyards in the Grossfeld, Heideboden, Hengstgruber and Strassacker vineyards in the municipalities of Gols, Podersdorf and Weiden on the eastern shore. They are 55% planted with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent, and 45% with the white wine varieties Welschriesling, Weißburgunder and Grüner Veltliner.

The vineyards are cultivated according to the guidelines of the (Controlled Integrated Production) with, for example, partial planting, gentle plant protection and consistent foliage work. Quality criteria are , and selective hand harvesting. The white wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels, where they also mature afterwards. The red wines are traditionally fermented on the mash in large vats. After the BSA in the steel tank, a large part matures in large wooden barrels or also in barrique. The premium wines include the red wine cuvées "Heideboden", "Rossolo" (both from Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent) and "Incognito" (Zweigelt, St. Laurent), Zweigelt Haideboden, Blaufränkisch Selection and Pinot Blanc Selection.
