Temple Harald

The estate is located in the municipality of Castell-Greuth (Steigerwald area) at the foot of the Steigerwald in the German wine-growing region Franconia, It was founded by Heinrich Brügel in 1992. Today it is run by his son Harald Brügel. The vineyards cover almost nine hectares of vineyards in the individual layers of Altenberg (Abtswind), Kirchberg (Castell) and handicrafts (Greuth). They are planted with the white varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Scheurebe and Gelber Muskateller as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Blauer Portugieser and Domina. The white wines ferment in steel tanks and are stored for a long time lees; the filtration is kept to a minimum. The red wines become more classic maceration aged in large wooden barrels or in barriques. In weather-appropriate years there will also be a Eiswein vinified. Around 70,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
