Tent Mario

The estate is located in the community Laumersheim (area Mittelhaardt / German Wine Route) in the German wine-growing region palatinate, The traditional family has been growing wine for four generations. Until the mid-1990s, it was a mixed agricultural business. With the takeover by Mario Zelt after his oenology studies in Geisenheim and internships in France, Austria and South Africa was converted to exclusively viticulture, which was associated with, among other things, the replanting of vineyards. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Goldberg (Bissersheim), Hergottsacker and Mandelpfad (Dirmstein) Burgweg (Großkarlbach), as well as cherry Orchard and Steinbuckel (Laumersheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat, and with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Dornfelder, St. Laurent and Merlot. The wines are produced in the lines Gutsweine and single layers. For the white wines, the grapes are after a different maceration pressed and ripened after several months on the temperature-cooled fermentation lees, The red wines mature after classic mash fermentation in used or new barriques. Bottle-fermented sects are also created. The winery is in the talent pool of VDP,
