The white grape variety originates from Turkmenistan. Synonyms are Irtik Iaprak and Irtuk Yaprak. The parentage is unknown. The late-maturing, high-yielding vine is resistant to frost, heat and drought. It is one of the most widespread varieties in Turkmenistan. As a wine grape, it is used to produce dry to sweet wines and fortified wines. It is also used for the production of table grapes and grape juice. The variety is also cultivated in Azerbaijan and Russia. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
