Size insect family with 2,800 species, which are also called "white ants" due to their bright color. But they are not related to the ants, but to the cockroaches. In viticulture, they can occur as pests, by using very old vines infested and hollow out the older wood, which leads to collapse. They are mostly in tropical countries; two species also in Southern Europe. In Central and Northern Europe, they play no role. See also below Vine enemies,
