The winery is located in the municipality of Langenlonsheim in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. The family has been growing grapes since 1723. Since 1996, it has been run by Dr. Martin Tesch. He discovered his enthusiasm for fermentation processes of all kinds while studying biology. Research work in the field of winemaking, beer brewing and the production of antibiotics made him an expert on everything to do with yeasts and fermentation. He is one of the few German winemakers to perfectly master the not uncontroversial biological acid reduction in Riesling. The vineyards cover 19 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Königsschild, Löhrer Berg and Rothenberg (Langenlonsheim), as well as Karthäuser, Krone and St. Remigiusberg (Laubenheim). They are mainly planted with Riesling (15 ha), as well as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Silvaner. The five single vineyard sites are marketed with different capsule colours. In suitable years, an ice wine is also pressed. The winery is a member of the VDP.
