Thanisch Ludwig

The winery "Ludwig Thanisch and son" is located in the municipality Lieser (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, Viticulture is operated by the traditional family since 1648, the end of the Thirty Years' War. At that time, there was a community called Thanisch. After a plague epidemic in the year 1640, a single villager remained alive, who moved to Graach and named himself after the former community. Today's owner Jörg Thanisch took over the estate in 2001 from his parents. The vineyards cover 5.5 hectares of vineyards in the layers Weisenstein in Bernkastel-Kues, Juffer in Brauneberg, as Niedernberg heroes in Lieser. 70% are steep slopes that have recently been completely converted to wire-frame education. It is cultivated to 75% of Riesling, as well as some Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. The wines are temperature-controlled fermented in stainless steel tanks, with predicate wines since 2002, only natural yeasts are used. Until bottling there is only one filtration. There are also bottle fermented Riesling sect produced.
