Thurling

The white grape variety (also Alzey 46-12, Aurea) is a new breed between Müller-Thurgau x Riesling, which is where the name came from. The crossing was done by Georg Shy (1879-1949) at the State Institute for Vine Breeding in Alzey (Rhineland). No holdings were reported in 2010 (Kym Anderson ).
