Tinhof Erwin

The winery is located in the Burgenland capital Eisenstadt in the DAC area Leithaberg (Austria). The winery was moved in 2010 to Trausdorf. The traditional company is run by Erwin Tinhof in the 11th generation of the family. After studying agriculture at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Wien , he completed a semester at the University of Montpellier and an internship at the French winery Mas de Daumas-Gassac (Languedoc). The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vineyards on the slopes of the Leitha mountains in the vineyards Fuchsenriegel and fire sidewalk. They are planted with up to 50-year-old vines. These are the white varieties Pinot Blanc, Neuburger and Muscat Ottonel, as well as the red varieties Blaufränkisch , St. Laurent and Zweigelt. The further expansion takes place depending on the vintage, quality and variety either in wooden barrels or in steel tanks. The red wine grapes go through a one-to four-week classic, depending on their maturity maceration, Further expansion takes place in large wooden barrels. Special white wine and red wines are aged in oak barrels. The premium wines include various red wines and white wines Leithaberg DAC (Erwin Tinhof was a founding member of the Leithaberg group in 2006). In weather-appropriate years are also noble sweet Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese pressed. The wines are exported to the European countries Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Czech Republic as well as to the USA.
