DOC area in the Trentino area (southern part of the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige) for red wines, rosé wines and white wines. It covers almost the entire province of Trento (Trento) and includes the slopes and plains in the river valleys of the Adige (Adige) and its tributaries, the Sarca, as well as areas around the lakes of Caldonazzo and Levico in 72 municipalities. The vineyards cover 5,500 hectares of vines. There are four subzones: Sorni (Giovo, Lavis and San Michele all'Adige), Superiore Marzemino Isera (Nogaredo and Villa Lagarina), Superiore Marzemino Ziresi (Volano) and Superiore Castel Beseno (Besenello and Calliano). There are also production zones for specific wines.

The single-varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the respective variety, up to 15% other permitted ones are possible. The red wines are Cabernet (CF and/or CS), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein - also as Rosato or Kretzer, Marzemino, Merlot, Moscato Rosa (Rose Muscat), Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) and Rebo. The white wines are Chardonnay, Moscato Giallo (Gold Mus cat), Müller-Thurgau, Nosiola, Pinot Bianco (Pinot Blanc), Pinot Grigio (Pinot Gris), Riesling Renano (Riesling), Riesling Italico (Welschriesling), Sauvignon (Sauvignon Bl anc) and Traminer Aromatico (Gewürztraminer).

The Bianco is made from the Chardonnay and/or Pinot Bianco varieties (at least 80%). The Rosso is blended from the varieties Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Carmenère and/or Merlot. The Kretzer rosato is made from the varieties Enantio and/or Schiava Grossa and/or Teroldego and/or Lagrein (at least two, maximum 70% each). The Vin Santo must contain at least 85% Nosiola.

There are special types of wine in the subzones. Sorni: The Bianco is blended in any use of the varieties Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Nosiola, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio and Sylvaner. Rosso is produced using any of the Schiava Grigia, Schiava Grossa, Schiava Gentile, Lagrein and Teroldego varieties.

Marzemino Isera and Marzemino Ziresi: the red wine is produced with at least 85% Marzemino Gentile.

Castel Beseno: the white wines Moscato Giallo, Moscato Giallo Passito and Vendemmia tardiva (late harvest) are produced from at least 85% Moscato Giallo.

There is also a longer-aged Riserva from the wine types Bianco, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon, Rosso, Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein, Marzemino, Merlot and Pinot Nero.

The best-known producers in Trentino include Bolognani, Cantine Monfort, Cavit, Endrizzi, Foradori, Gaierhof, Grigoletti, Letrari, Longariva, Maso Bastie, Maso Bergamini, Maso Furli, Maso Poli, Molino dei Lessi, Pojer & Sandri, Sandri, Simoncelli, Spagnolli, de Tarczal, Vallarom, Villa Cornioli and Zanotelli.
