Genus of molds with the only known species Trichothecium roseum. It often occurs worldwide in soil and on dying plant material. In the interior Trichothecium roseum is often found as a spoil on flour products and other foods. The fast-growing mold shows a whitish color, which changes from orange to reddish in older colonies.
