Trotzenberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Marienthal in the German wine-growing region of Ahr. The south to southwest-facing vineyards at an altitude of 120 to 200 metres above sea level in the form of an amphitheatre with a slope of 10 to 45% cover seven hectares of vineyards. The south-facing part is considered the fillet piece. The soils consist of greywacke with hanging loam and some loess loam in the lower part. The varieties cultivated here are mainly Pinot Noir ( around half of the vineyard) and Riesling. The Bertram Julia, Heiner & Kreuzberg, Kreuzberg and Riske Erwin wineries, for example, have shares in the site.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
