Synonym (also Tschaggelevernatsch) for the grape variety Schiava Grossa (in Germany Trollinger). In South Tyrol, "Tschaggele" (from the Italian Ciocca = bunch) is also a popular term for a small grape (small bunch of berries), but also for excessive alcohol consumption and drunkenness or intoxication. The small bush above the entrance as a sign of an open Buschenschank is called "Tschöggele" there.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
