Tulip

The winery is located in Kfar Tikva (Village of Hope) 11 kilometers east of Haifa in northern . It is one of the largest boutique wineries (see under ). The "Village of Hope" was founded in 1963 with the aim of enabling disabled people to live a life with as much independence as possible. Today, 200 people with physical, mental and emotional disabilities live in the village community. The Tulip Winery was founded in 2003 by the building contractor Yitzhak and his wife Leah Yitzhaki. Many of the handicapped people are employed in the production process, for example in the grape harvest and bottling. Tamir Azyr is responsible as cellar master. The grapes come from vineyards in the Upper Galilee and the Judean Mountains, which are supplied by contracted winegrowers. The red wine varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot Syrah, as well as the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer are processed. The red wines are aged for up to 30 months in French barriques. A wine in the port wine style is also produced. About 95,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
