The winery is located in Kfar Tikva (Village of Hope) 11 kilometers east of Haifa in the north Israel
, It is one of the largest boutique wineries (see under Garage wine
). The "Village of Hope" was founded in 1963 with the aim of enabling people with disabilities to live as independently as possible. Today, 200 people with physical, mental and emotional disabilities live in the village community. The Tulip Winery was founded in 2003 by the contractor Yitzhak and his wife Leah Yitzhaki. In production, many of the handicapped are employed, for example, in grape harvesting and bottling. The cellar master is Tamir Azyr. The grapes come from vineyards of the Upper Galilee and the Judean Mountains, which are supplied by contract growers. The red varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot Syrah, as well as the white varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer are processed. The red wines are aged up to 30 months in French oak barrels. There is also a wine produced in Port wine style. Every year around 95,000 bottles of wine are produced.
