The winery is located in the community Frauenkirchen in the Burgenland DAC area Lake Neusiedl (Austria). Viticulture is operated by the Franconian family since 1755, when the ancestors moved to today Burgenland on. Josef "Pepi" Umathum has been a cult figure, doyen and winemaker philosopher within the Austrian winegrowing scene for more than twenty years. The vineyards cover 40 hectares of vineyards in three locations.
