The winery is located in the municipality of Kaltern (Caldaro) in the Italian wine-growing region of South Tyrol ( Trentino-Alto Adige region). In 2006, they started to process the grapes themselves, before that they were delivered to a winegrowers' cooperative. The family has been involved in viticulture for several generations, and today the business is run by Thomas Unterhofer. According to the company's philosophy, tradition, nature, passion and quality should be reflected in every bottle. The vineyards cover four hectares of vineyards in the communities of Kampenn and Kaltern on mostly very steep slopes, which are cultivated by hand according to environmentally friendly guidelines. They are planted with the white wine varieties Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Kerner and Bronner, as well as Merlot and several varieties of the red wine Vernatsch (Schiava). The DOC South Tyrolean white wines Sauvignon Blanc and Kerner (yield-reduced 50 quintals per hectare) and the red wine DOC St. Magdalener (20% of the grapes dried on the vine) are among the premium wines. Around 22,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, 15% go to Germany. The winery is a member of Freie Weinbauern Südtirol, Wein.Kaltern, Konsortium Südtiroler Wein and FIVI (Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti).
