The red grape variety (also Caab 3/13) is a new variety between Castets x Abouriou. The name was given after a tributary of the Danube. It was crossed in Slovakia in 1976 by Dorota Pospíšilová. The plant variety protection was granted in 2011. Incidentally, the three new breeds Hron, Nitranka and Rimava were created with the same parents. The late maturing vine produces dark, full-bodied red wines with ageing potential similar to Cabernet Sauvignon. The variety is cultivated in Slovakia. In 2016, however, no stocks were identified (Kym Anderson).
