Independent municipal area in the southern French appellation Côtes du Rhône-Villages (see the AOC regulations there). Since 2017, the municipality has been allowed to use the name on the label in addition. The vineyards cover 160 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 240 to 280 metres above sea level on sandstone soils with pebbles. They cover the five communes of Buisson, Saint-Marcellin-lès-Vaison, Saint-Roman-de-Malegarde, Vaison-la-Romaine and Villedieu in the department of Vaucluse. Red, rosé and white wines are produced.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
