Subzone of the DOC area Colli Piacentini; look there.
DOC area for a wide range of reds and whites in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna created by the merger of several separate DOC areas. The former subzone Gutturnio was classified in 2011 as an independent DOC area. The name means in German "hill of Piacenza". Excavated petrified vine roots and grape seeds point to an ancient winegrowing history as early as 2,000 BC. Chr.

The area includes the municipalities of Caminata, Nibbiano, Pianello Val Tidone, Piozzano and Ziano Piacentino, as well as hilly areas of Agazzano, Alseno, Bettola, Bobbio, Borgonovo Val Tidone, Carpaneto Piacentino, Castell'Arquato, Castel San Giovanni, Coli, Gazzola, Gropparello, Lugagnano Val d'Arda, Pecorara, Ponte dell'Olio, Rivergaro, San Giorgio...
