Verdelet

The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Seibel 5455 (Plantet) x Seibel 4938. Synonyms are Blanc Verdelet, Acorn Grape, Seibel 9110, Verdelette, White Early and White Sky. Genes of Vitis berlandieri, Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrid was crossed in France by the breeder Albert Seibel (1844-1936). It was the crossing partner of the new variety Vineland 53-035. The vine is suitable as a wine grape variety and table grape. It is grown on 39 hectares in Japan and on one hectare in Canada in the province of British Columbia. In 2016, a total of 40 hectares of vineyard were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
