The white grape variety (also Pirovano 314) is a new cross-breed between Sicily x Moscato d'Adda according to DNA analyses carried out in 2013. The parentage Madeleine Royale x Delizia di Vaprio given in the breeding list turned out to be wrong. The cross was made at the research centre in Rome by the Italian breeder Alberto Piròvano (1884-1973). The variety is used as table grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
