Vigneti della Serenissima

DOC area (also Serenissima) for sparkling wines produced according to the metodo tradizionale(bottle fermentation) in the Italian region of Veneto It was classified in 2011. Serenissima (lat. "the exalted") was the nickname of the former Republic of Venice. The zone includes hilly areas in the provinces of Belluno, Padua, Treviso, Verona and Vicenza. The wines are produced with any use of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco(Pinot Blanc) and Pinot Nero(Pinot Noir). There are the wine types Serenissima (12 months on the lees), Serenissima Rosé (12 months), Serenissima Millesimato (24 months) and Serenissima Riserva (36 months).
