Villa baths

The estate is located in the municipality of Eckelsheim (Bingen area) in the German wine-growing region Rheinhessen, Johann baths planted the first vines in 1921 in what was then a mixed farm. His son Friedrich Bäder was one of the first winemakers in Rheinhessen to plant the Dornfelder variety. Already in 1934 a second mainstay was built with a vine finishing. In the third generation, son Hans-Friedrich Bäder expanded this branch. In the fourth generation, Dipl. Ing. Jens Bäder has dedicated himself entirely to wine. He completed internships abroad during his studies in viticulture & oenology and dealt with a wide variety of viticulture techniques. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Eselstreiber, Kirchberg and Sonnenköpfchen (Eckelsheim), La Roche (Uffhofen) and Steigerberg (Wendelsheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, as well as with the red varieties Dornfelder, Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir. The aim is to create exceptional and above-average wines that are unique each year. This is done with a return to traditional winemaking. The fermentation is mainly done with natural yeasts, the expansion in traditional wooden barrels. Special wine treatment is avoided if possible. The flagship of the house is the Riesling Uffhofener La Roche. In weather-appropriate years, noble sweet predicates and ice wines are also pressed. Sparkling wines and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' association Message in a bottle,
