The winery is located in the municipality of Monticelli Brusati (province of Brescia) in the Italian region of Lombardy. It was founded in 1960 by Alessandro Bianchi. He bought an area of land of over 100 hectares near the commune, where the remains of a medieval village dating back to the 16th century were located. He named it Villa, from which, together with the area, came the estate name. The village was subsequently completely restored. The vineyards cover 37 hectares of vineyards with terraces supported by dry stone walls, planted with the white wine varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco, and the red wine varieties Pinot Nero, Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera and Nebbiolo. The vineyards are cultivated organically. The cellar is divided into three parts, one dating back to the 16th century and two new parts built in 1978 and 1989. The product range includes nine different types of Franciacorta DOCG sparkling wine, still wines DOC Curtefranca Bianco and Rosso, and several IGT wines. After fermentation in the bottle, the sparkling wines are stored on the yeast for 30, 42, 48 months, depending on the type, and the flagship of the house "Selezione Brut" even for 60 months. The winery is a member of the two associations Consorzio per la Tutela del Franciacorta and Strada del Vino Franciacorta.
