The winery is located in the municipality of Alange (Badajoz province) in the DO Ribera del Guadiana in the Spanish region of Extremadura. The total estate of the Alvear family covers 4,000 hectares, in the middle of which lies the "Palacio Quemado" (burnt palace). In addition to viticulture, grain and olives are also cultivated, as well as livestock. The vineyards cover 100 hectares at an average altitude of 520 metres above sea level. The red wine varieties Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, as well as the white wine variety Pardina (Pardillo) are cultivated. After temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation, the wines are matured for different lengths of time in French or American oak, depending on the type. They are produced with the appellations Palacio Quemado, Señorío de Alange and PQ.
