Vintage Cognac

Designation (also Millésime Cognac) for a vintage cognac. As a rule, a Cognac is assembled from different vintages, but the label may not indicate a vintage or its age. As an exception, production from a single harvest is also permitted, which is strictly monitored and controlled by the BNIC cognac association. In this case the vintage year may be indicated. The quality of these products differs from the cognacs usually produced "equally" per producer with a certain style, as they are subject to fluctuations in vintage. Another exception is the Early Landed Cognac produced especially for the English market.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
