Vinum picatum

Name (Vin poissé) for a wine from the Roman antiquity, Poissé is the name for a resinous material with which the wine container (e.g. amphorae ) were closed. Such a wine is made by Pliny the Elder (23-79) in his scientific writing "Naturalis Historia" as a high-quality wine from the left bank of the Rhone (Vienne in the Isère department). He was born out of the ancient grapeAllobrogica vinified.
