Vitis albuelis

Under this name from the Roman wine author Columella (1st half 1st century) White grape variety mentioned in his work "De re rustica". His contemporary Pliny the Elder (23-79) mentions the probably same vine under the name "Vitis alba" (Uva Alba). The hypothesis that she is an ancestor of the Elbling could be, is obsolete due to the partly clarified ancestry of the Elbling.
