VITISWISS

Swiss umbrella organisation for oriented integrated production (KIP/IP) in . The general objective is to promote economic viticulture that respects the environment and supports agriculture in its many social, cultural and tourist tasks. These are production of healthy grapes, long-term preservation of soil fertility and reduction of environmental pollution, promotion and preservation of (species diversity) in the ecosystem, preferential use of gentle, biological and biotechnical control methods in with priority use of natural resources.

Six regional winegrowing associations are grouped under VITISWISS. These are Deutschweizer Weinbauverband (German-Swiss), Federviti (Ticino), Pi 3 Lacs (Neuchâtel), Vitipige (Geneva), Vitiplus (Vaud) and Vitival (Valais). The umbrella organisation awards the VINATURA trademark, registered as a trademark, to grapes and wines that meet the guidelines regarding grape production and vinification. Each user of the trademark signs a contract with the regional organisation. He undertakes to have his cellar and winery inspected. For general principles and other organic associations, see .
