Italian term for a slightly sparkling wine (vivace = lively). Compared to a frizzante or secco (with the legal wine specifications for a semi-sparkling wine, i.e. 1 to 2.5 bar), it has an overpressure of only 1 bar. This applies regardless of the production method; see the various methods under the keyword sparkling wine.
For information on the production of alcoholic beverages, see Champagne (sparkling wines), Distillation (distillates), Spirits (types), Winemaking (wines and wine types) and Wine law (wine law issues).
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
