Vlosh

The red grape variety originates from Albania. Synonyms are Vlesh, The parentage is unknown. The late-ripening grape yields red wines that are strong in alcohol and rich in tannins and are often vinified oxidatively in the rancio style. It is also used as table grape. The variety is cultivated in the area around the coastal town of Narta in southwestern Albania. It is also used as table grape. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
