Vourvoukelis

Producer description of "Ktima Vourvoukeli"
The winery is located in the municipality of Avdira, 20 kilometres from the city of Xanthi in the Greek region of Thrace. Avdira was home to the philosophers Democritus and Protagoras in ancient times. It was founded in 1999 by Nikos Vourvoukeli. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vineyards, which are planted with the red wine varieties Limnio, Pamiti (Pamid), Cinsaut, Merlot and Syrah, and the white wine varieties Assyrtiko, Roditis, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The cultivation is carried out according to organic guidelines. Red, rosé and white wines Topikos Oinos (country wines) are produced.
