Vradiano

The red grape variety comes from Greece. Synonyms are Bordiano, Bradyano, Vordiano, Vradinia, Vradyano and Vrathiano. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. She was a parent of the variety Sykiotis. The vine produces full-bodied and tannic red wines with aromas of cherry, plum, violet, cinnamon and pepper. These are mainly used in blends, for example with Syrah. This extremely rare variety is cultivated in small quantities in central Greece, including the island of Euboea. However, no stock was reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
