Vrboska

The white grape variety (also HP x CP 3/23) is a new cross-breed between Roter Traminer (Gewürztraminer) x Cabanská Perla (Csaba Gyöngye). It was named after the place of crossing (municipality). The cross was made in the Czech Republic by the breeders J. Sevcíkem, I. Ludvíkovou and M. Zborilem. Plant variety protection was granted in 2004. The very early ripening vine is particularly resistant to fungal diseases such as downy mildew and frost. It produces aromatic and extract-rich, but rather low-acid white wines with aromas of liquorice and discreet muscat tones. The variety is cultivated in small quantities in the Czech Republic (Moravia). In 2016, however, no stock was reported (Kym Anderson).
