Vuillermin

The red grape comes from the border area Italy / Switzerland, It could be identical to the already extinct variety Eperon (Spron), which was described by the Italian ampelographer Lorenzo F. Gatta in 1838. As was done in 2003 DNA analysis is a presumably natural cross between Fumin x unknown variety. The variety becomes a grape variety group in Switzerland Old plants counted. The late-ripening vine was already threatened with extinction and was developed by the Italian biologist Dr. Giulio Moriando reactivated. The variety is found in the Italian region aosta Valley grown exclusively in the three municipalities of Chambave, Châtillon and Pontey. In 2010 four hectares of vineyards were shown.
