Wallner Gerhard

The winery is located in the municipality German shooters in the Burgenland DAC area Eisenberg (Austria). In the traditional family, winegrowing has been practiced for four generations. A wine tavern is connected. The farm is run by Gerhard Wallner, who is supported in the vineyard by his parents Anna and Josef. The vineyards cover eight hectares of vineyards mainly in the German-Schützener locations Bründlgfangen and vineyard, as well as in the Katastral municipality Eisenberg. They are 90% with the red varieties Blaufränkisch (70%), Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the rest of the white varieties Welschriesling and Pinot Blanc planted. The goal is that the red wines the typicality of the area. They are traditionally aged in large oak barrels, especially mature material, sometimes in barriques. The flagship is the long-lived red wine Cuvée "Kentaur", which is blended from the varieties Blaufränkisch , Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and sometimes a little Zweigelt and aged in oak barrels.
