The winery is located in the municipality of Bad Krozingen (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden). The family has been growing grapes for generations. Besides viticulture, there are also asparagus and strawberries. The farm is run by Fritz Waßmer. The vineyards cover 38 hectares of vines in the single vineyards Roter Berg (Kenzingen), Bienenberg (Malterdingen), Sommerhalde (Bombach), Kaiserberg (Herbolzheim) and Schlossberg (Achkarren). They are densely planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir from Burgundy clones, the farm's main variety with 60% of the area, Frühburgunder, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, as well as the white wine varieties Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Gewürztraminer and Riesling with up to 13,000 vines/ha. The aim of the house is to produce wines that are typical of their location and variety. The product range is divided into three lines: Estate Wines, Premium Wines and single vineyards. Most of the white wines are vinified in stainless steel. The Pinot Noir wines are fermented openly in or in stainless steel spontaneously. Noble sweet wines such as Auslese, Beerenauslese and, in years with suitable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslese are also produced. Secco and bottle-fermented sparkling wine are also produced. Over 190,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
