Wassmer Martin

The estate is located in the community Bad Krozingen-Schlatt (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region to bathe, In agriculture-oriented business winegrowing has been practiced for generations. After completing his training as a cook, Martin Waßmer decided to produce his own wine after having given seminars and practical experience in France in 1998. The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Altenberg (Laufen), Maltese Garden (Schlatt), Steingrüble (Bad Krozingen), and Latvians and Schäf (Auggen). They are the red varieties Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, and planted with the white varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chassonne, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Muscat and Gewürztraminer. It is partly to ancient vineyards in steep slopes.

Quality criteria are consistent reduction in quantity and completely healthy grapes. The wines are almost exclusively dry and, if possible, fermented with natural yeasts and stored for a particularly long time on the yeast. The maturity is in the style and tradition of Burgundy wines. All red wines are matured in oak barrels, top quality in barrique. During the ripening process, which lasts for up to 18 months, the suspended solids settle naturally and the wine is no longer filtered if possible. The matured barrique exclusive wines carry the mark "SW". The flagship of the house is the Pinot Noir "GC". It also produces bottle-fermented sect.
