Wegleitner Johann

The estate is located in the municipality of Apetlon in Burgenland wine region Lake Neusiedl (Austria) It is run by Johann Wegleitner (vineyards) and his son Johannes (marketing, sales, cellar). The vineyards cover 3.5 hectares of vines, which are planted to 55% with the red varieties Blauer Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent, and to 45% of the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Bouvier and Chardonnay. Great emphasis is placed on conscious thin out, as well as gentle processing of ripe, healthy grapes. The white wines are fermented and aged in stainless steel. The red wines mature depending on the type of wine in stainless steel or in used or new barriques. The main focus is also the varieties Grüner Veltliner, Blauer Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch . The majority of white wine grapes are used for the production of sweet wines and only a few dry. Premium wines are matured in barrique red wine "Joweel" (Zweigelt), the cuvée "Fabio" (Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch , St. Laurent), as well as several Trockenbeerenauslese. In weather-appropriate years and ice wines are pressed.
